Product Overview

The AC164140 is an RTCC PICtail Plus Daughter Board demonstrates the features and abilities of the MCP79410 Real Time Clock/Calendar family in standard development platforms. I2C PICtail daughter evaluation board is based around the MCP79410 I2C Serial Real Time Clock/Calendar. By designing this daughter board with the PICtail Plus, PICtail and PICkit serial connectors, it will operate with the Explorer 16 Development Board, the PICDEM PIC18 Explorer Board, the XLP 16bit Development Board and the PICkit Serial Analyzer tool. Also included is a 3V coin cell battery that can be installed in the coin cell holder for backup power. The installed crystal provides high accuracy at room temperature. Using the calibration features of the MCP79410, this accuracy can be improved across all temperatures.
  • PICtail daughter board, PICtail Plus connector and PICkit Serial Analyzer connector.
  • Test points for oscilloscope connections for firmware debugging (I2C and MFP connections).
  • On board battery connection to operate when VCC is not present
  • Jumper to steer MFP pin to suit a range of MCU development boards.
  • Follows the published recommended usage including decoupling capacitors, pull up/down resistors
