MAX14789EGSA+

MAX14789EGSA+ is a full-duplex, ±35kV ESD-protected, RS-485 transceiver for high-speed communication. It is designed for robust communication in harsh industrial environments. It is optimized for communication over very long cables or short unterminated cables. Applications include motion controllers, encoder interfaces, HV AC control systems, and utility meters.

• Wide 3.0V to 5.5V supply voltage range
• Optimized for performance in harsh industrial environments
• ±35kV ESD (HBM) protection on RS-485 I/O ports
• Short-circuit protected outputs, true fail-safe receiver, thermal shutdown
• 1/4-unit load allows up to 128 transceivers on the bus
• Supply current is 1.9mA typ at DE=high, active-low RE=low, no load
• Driver common-mode output voltage is 3V max at RL=100 ohm or 54ohm
• Driver propagation delay is 25ns max at RL=54ohm, CL=50pF
• 25Mbps maximum data rate
• 8 SO package, -40°C to +105°C temperature range
