Product Overview

HMC973ALP3E is an absorptive GaAs MMIC voltage variable attenuator (VVA) which operates from 0.5 to 5GHz and is ideal in designs where an analogue DC control signal must be used to control RF signal levels over a 26dB amplitude range. It features a shunt-type attenuator controlled by an analogue voltage, Vctrl. This is an unidirectional device with optimum linearity performance achieved when the RF input signal is applied to the RFIN package lead. It is ideal for point-to-point radio, cellular/3G and WiMAX/4G infrastructure, test instrumentation, microwave sensors, military, ECM and radar.

  • Attenuation range from 26dB typ (0.5 - 2.0GHz frequency range, TA=+25°C, 50 ohm system, Vdd=+5V)
  • Input return loss is 10dB typ (0.5 - 2.0GHz frequency range, TA=+25°C, 50 ohm system, Vdd=+5V)
  • Output return loss is 8dB typ (0.5 - 2.0GHz frequency range, TA=+25°C, 50 ohm system, Vdd=+5V)
  • Input power for 1dB compression is 25dBm typ (0.5 - 2.0GHz frequency, TA=+25°C, Vdd=+5V)
  • Supply current (Idd) is 600µA typ (0.5 - 5.0GHz frequency range, TA=+25°C, 50 ohm system, Vdd=+5V)
  • Low stress injection moulded plastic package
  • Operating temperature rating range -40 to +85°C
