Overview
PSOC™ Edge is designed for next-generation responsive compute and control applications, featuring hardware-assisted machine learning (ML) acceleration. This new family of MCUs delivers next-level end-user experiences by enabling end products to be more intelligent and intuitively usable, thereby lowering the barrier in human-machine interaction and adding contextual awareness to end applications, all while providing robust privacy and safety protection through embedded Edge Protect technologies. PSOC™ Edge is part of a full Edge system solution, which includes microcontrollers (MCUs), software, and security.
The PSOC™ Edge devices are based on the high-performance Arm® Cortex®-M55, including Helium™ DSP support paired with Arm® Ethos™-U55 and Cortex-M33 paired with Infineon’s ultra-low-power NNLite neural network accelerator.
The enhanced intelligence of the PSOC™ Edge series adds support for advanced graphics and audio- and vision-based applications to the extensive set of human interface modes (touch, graphics, voice) available in earlier generation PSOC™ devices.
The new series includes four product platforms PSOC™ Edge E81, E82, E83 and E84 enabling easy migration of applications within the family, as well as an upgrade path for earlier generation designs.

Enablement Software
Infineon's ModusToolbox™ is a collection of easy-to-use software and tools that enable rapid development of Infineon microcontrollers and AIROC™ Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® devices. It provides both development tools and run-time software for a flexible and comprehensive development experience. The ModusToolbox™ tools package includes desktop programs that enable the creation of new embedded applications, managing software components, configuring device peripherals and middleware, and embedded development tools for compiling, programming, and debugging. The ModusToolbox™ run-time software includes an extensive collection of GitHub-hosted repositories comprised of code examples, board support packages, middleware, and application support.

For portable, scalable, next-gen MCU designs, the PSOC™ Edge MCUs are supported in the Zephyr® OS Ecosystem through the following kit: KIT_PSE84_EVAL. Zephyr is a small, yet scalable, full-featured OS with an architecture that allows developers to focus on applications requiring a real-time OS. It is flexible and customizable, and built with safety and security in mind.
AI/ML Enablement
