The STEVAL-ISA147V3 is a high-performance 500W fully digital AC-DC power supply (D-SMPS) development kit from STMicroelectronics, designed for industrial, telecom, and server applications. It features a compact dual-stage topology combining semi-bridgeless PFC and resonant LLC half-bridge with synchronous rectification (SR), delivering a 12V/42A output with peak efficiency up to 94%. Zero voltage switching (ZVS), low-loss PFC, and adaptive frequency control ensure precise regulation, low conduction losses, and compliance with strict standards, including power factor up to 0.997 and total harmonic distortion (THD) as low as 3.2%.
The kit integrates two STM32 microcontrollers: the STM32F051K8 manages the input semi-bridgeless PFC stage, while the STM32F334C8 controls the LLC half-bridge output stage. The bridgeless PFC topology reduces diode conduction losses, lowers component count, and improves overall system efficiency.
The input stage employs an outer voltage loop for bus regulation and an inner current loop to ensure sinusoidal waveform shaping. The output stage uses a constant duty cycle with variable frequency control to maintain stable voltage under varying loads and input conditions.
