Product Overview
The SMAJ440CA from Littelfuse is a SMAJ series 400W, surface mount bidirectional transient voltage suppression diode in DO-214AA package. It features excellent clamping capability, glass passivated junction, low inductance, low profile package, built-in strain relief and fast response time of typically less than 1.0ps from 0Vs to VBR min. The peak pulse power dissipation (PPPM) is 400W at TA=25°C, 10/1000µs waveform, 0.01% repetition rate (duty cycle). This SMAJ series transient voltage suppression diode is designed specifically to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. It is ideal for the protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus and other vulnerable circuits.
- Reverse stand off voltage (VR) of 440V and maximum reverse leakage (IR) of 1µA at VR
- Breakdown voltage (VBR) of 492V minimum, 543V maximum at 1mA test current (IT)
- Maximum clamping voltage (VC) of 713V at IPP and maximum peak pulse current (IPP) of 0.6A
- Power dissipation (PD) of 3.3W on infinite heat sink at TL=50°C
- Typical failure mode is short from over specified voltage or current
- Plastic package is flammability rated V-0 per UL standard
- IEC-61000-4-2 ESD 30KV (air), 30KV (contact) protection
- Suitable for surface mounted applications to optimize board space
- Operating temperature range from -65°C to 150°C and 260°C/40sec high temperature to reflow soldering
- ESD protection of data lines with IEC 61000-4-2 and EFT protection with IEC 61000-4-4 standard
