Product Overview
ADP1111 is part of a family of step-up/step-down switching regulator that operates from an input voltage supply of 2V to 12V in step-up mode and up to 30V in step-down mode. This can be programmed to operate in step-up/stepdown or inverting applications with only 3 external components. Maximum switch current can be programmed with a single resistor, and an open collector gain block can be arranged in multiple configuration for low battery detection, as a post linear regulator, undervoltage lockout, or as an error amplifier. Typical applications are 3V to 5V, 5V to 12V step-up converters, 9V to 5V, 12V to 5V step-down converters, laptop and palmtop computers, cellular telephones, flash memory VPP generators, remote controls, peripherals and add-on cards, battery backup supplies, uninterruptible supplies, portable instruments.
- Utilizes surface mount inductors, very few external components required
- Low battery detector, user adjustable current limit
- Internal 1A power switch
- Quiescent current is 300μA typ (switch off, 0C ≤ TA ≤ +70C, VIN=3V)
- Input voltage is 12.6V max (step-up mode, 0 ≤ TA ≤ 70°C), 30V max (step-down mode, 0C ≤ TA ≤ 70°C)
- Comparator hysteresis is 12.5mV max (0C ≤ TA ≤ +70C, VIN=3V)
- Oscillator frequency is 88KHz (0C ≤ TA ≤ +70C, VIN=3V)
- Current limit is 400mA (TA=+25°C, 220 ohm from ILIM to VIN, VIN=3V)
- 5V output voltage
- 8-lead standard small outline package [SOIC-N], -40°C to +85°C temperature rating
