Ordering Products

 

Placing an order on our site is fast and convenient. Use Quick or Advanced Search to find the parts you need. Add them to your shopping cart and when you are ready to complete your order click "Checkout".

You'll be asked for billing and shipping information. If you've purchased on our website before, most of the information will be filled in already.

After you submit your order, you'll receive an order confirmation notice at your email address. You can visit the Order Status/History page to check the status of your order at any time.

How do I place an order on element14.com?

Placing an order on element14.com is easy. Follow these steps:

  • You must be in the element14 store (http://au.element14.com) to purchase products from element14
  • Search for the items you need. When you find the product you need, add it to your shopping cart using the "Buy" button.
  • In the shopping cart, click "Proceed to Checkout" when you're done shopping.
  • Complete the required information in the Checkout section.
  • Place your order by clicking "Submit Order" on the Review Order page.

How do I add an item to my cart?

If you have found the item in search results, click the "Buy" icon in the Quantity column. If you're viewing a part detail page, enter the quantity in the buy field and click the "Buy" icon. You'll see the item placed in your cart.

What are order minimums and multiples?

Certain products like resistors or cable come in reels or packs of set length or quantity. They are not available for sale in quantities below certain levels because it is not economical to package them in smaller quantities.

What does it mean when a part is backordered?

Occasionally, demand for certain electronic parts is so great that industry-wide shortages emerge and we are temporarily unable to keep them in inventory. In that situation, we will advise you of expected waiting time for delivery and offer substitute or similar items as an alternative.

Can I schedule orders on the element14 website?

Yes. Schedule your orders to save money and ensure peace of mind.

Purchase in high volumes and get lower prices and schedule your products and invoices for delivery when you want!

  • Qualify for the total quantity price of your full requirement
  • Schedule your orders for delivery on your required dates
  • Only receive an invoice once your products are despatched
  • Orders can be scheduled up to 12 months in advance of the initial order being placed
  • Also available on our re-reeling service

Schedule orders are now available online. Set up a scheduled order as part of the ordering process by clicking on the ‘create/edit a scheduled order’ button on the delivery page at checkout. Alternatively, if you are an Australian customer call 1300 361 005 or if you are a New Zealand customer call 0800 90 80 80.

The scheduled orders service from element14 is now even more flexible. You can now schedule your orders in a way that suits you – either by adding multiple products to a shipment date or creating individual schedules for each product line. Schedule your orders on the delivery page when ordering online with element14.

N.B. Prices are fixed and stock is guaranteed for up to 3 months from your initial order being placed.

BoM (Bills of Materials) Conversion Service

Cross refer your manufacturer part numbers with element14 order codes on your bill of materials.

Step by step guide

  • Simply attach your BOM and email our dedicated team or access the BoM service here
  • Take your Excel spreadsheet containing element14 order codes, manufacturers part numbers, part descriptions, or industry part numbers and upload
An on screen submission message will confirm you have been successful.

How do I print a copy of my order?

On the Order Review page, click "Print Page" to view your order in a format which is easy to print. Click "Print Page" to print the page. When you're finished, click "Close this Window". When you return to the Order Review page, click "Submit Order". Your order is not submitted until the "Submit Order" button has been clicked. You can also print a copy of your order after submitting the order. Click "Print Page" on the Order Confirmation page to view your order in a format which is easy to print. Click "Print Page" to print the page. When you're finished, click "Close this Window".

What is a CCV Number (Credit Card Verification Number)?

For Visa, Mastercard and Diners Club card holders: Your CCV number is located on the reverse of your credit card. It is the last three numbers located on the signature strip of your card.

American Express card holders: Your CCV number is on the front of your card, located above the last stamped number of your card. American Express CCV numbers are four digits long.

What type of order confirmation will I receive?

We will send an order confirmation to the email address you provided us. The order confirmation will contain the order number and a list of the parts you purchased along with prices and quantities. You will also receive a shipping notice once your order is shipped.

You can access information on your order history from the past 13 months in the My Account area. If you need information on an order that isn't shown, please call 1300 361 005.

Can I save my shopping cart and complete my order later?

Yes. In the shopping cart, you can save your cart by entering the name of your choice in the Save Cart field, then click "Save Cart". The saved cart is then available in My Account.

How do I buy the items in my saved cart again?

Go to My Account and access Saved Carts. Find the cart that contains the items you want. Check the "Add to current shopping cart" box next to the cart and click "Update". The items will be copied into your current shopping cart.

How long will my saved cart be stored?

We'll store your saved carts indefinitely as long as they've been accessed in the past 12 months. Carts that have not been accessed in the past 12 months will be deleted automatically.

In the List of Saved Shopping Carts, check the Delete box of the cart you want to delete. Then click "Update".

Can I add notes to items in my shopping cart?

Yes. In the shopping cart, use the Line Notes field to enter information to help you or your staff. Line notes will appear on all the order packing slips. Keep in mind that line notes are only for use by you and your company internally.

How can I use line notes?

You can use line notes to simplify your internal receiving processes. For example, you can type in your internal part number for each item in the Notes field and then save your cart. The next time you reorder using the saved cart, the link between your internal part number and element14's part number will already be defined. The receiver of the shipment won't have to do the research again.
